Sweet Retreat was the perfect location for a family trip. Close proximity to the beach, kids corner playground, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Home was comfortable and truly a peaceful retreat to come back to after a day of fun. We were able to make meals - the kitchen has everything you need and more - and they were generous with cleaning products, paper towels, etc. also very convenient to have laundry within the house to wash our beach towels! We loved it and cant wait to visit again.

We absolutely loved Sweet Retreat! It was a perfect house for the two of us or a small family. It was clean and so cozy that we didn't want to leave!! We had everything we needed and they were very generous with soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. The sunroom was wonderful to sit and read. We used the fire pit outside. The garage was nice to store our rented bikes. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. We really didn't want to leave. Thank you!!

We have always had a great experience with this property. The only reason we may not return is that Sherman's Dairy Bar may be closing. It's one of the big reasons we choose South Haven over other towns along Lake Michigan.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights with our two boys (4 yo and almost 1). In short, this place was perfect. Close to the beach. Close to Kids Corner. Close to town. The home was immaculate and "homier" than I anticipated. Much less sterile than the photos portray. The house had a number of board games and books so you don't have to worry about packing those. The sun room in the front is bright and cheery - a great place to relax while my little ones were napping. We also enjoyed the back patio with grill and firepit. Note: the grill and firepit are on the small. Fine for us, but if you're trying to grill a bunch of steaks or burgers for a big group, it might take a couple rounds.

Finally, Shores Vacation Rental's was super responsive both before and during the trip. Really a top notch experience! This place was beyond expectations... The home was spectacular and Shores Vacation Rentals was really great. Management companies are often difficult to work with, but the service was exceptional. One minor suggestion: the floor was slippery, especially in the center of the living room. Not sure what options you have in terms of cleaning products, but we almost wiped out a couple of times.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Sweet Retreat. It is such a nice little house within walking distance of the beach, the community playground, and shopping/restaurants. The house was very clean and neat and we loved grilling on the patio and the kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner. We also had gorgeous weather during our stay and enjoyed having windows open and sitting on the sun porch.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at 224 Van Buren during the 2017 Blueberry Festival. The house was in a quiet neighborhood, very comfortable and conveniently located to the beach and to town. The weather was picture perfect and we enjoyed watching many sunsets over South Beach, took walks around town and on the beach, took a boat tour up the Black River, and enjoyed cocktails many nights on the Idler Riverboat in town. Most relaxing time and one of the best vacations we've had in a long time. Just heavenly!

The property itself is a pretty good location. Close to the beach, kids corner, and walking distance to downtown. Cute property. But there were some issues that need to be addressed. We actually left a day early because of a couple issues. Overall it was an okay property, but not my favorite Shores property and definitely not my favorite stay.
