Our house is close to it all; Vineyards, Breweries and Virtue Cider are all a short drive away! Lake Michigan, the greatest of the Great Lakes, is a short walk away! Take a tram (elevator) down to the shoreline and enjoy the lake life! Enjoy watching the sunset over the lake every night.
OAR-Chard House offers 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms! Our home is a hundred-year-old home that was moved to this site and refurbished from top to bottom with refinished, original wood floors in the living room and master bedroom. Wifi and cable TV are available throughout the house.
This is our vacation home, we come and stay often as a family and love to host our friends! We sleep in the beds and cook in the kitchen. So we make sure the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal!
The kitchen is brand new with high end cabinetry, granite countertops and an island that seats four. It is stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, silverware and cooking utensils.
The open living area has a flat screen TV with DVD. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, walk in closet and a flat screen TV. The second bedroom on the first floor serves as the kids bunk room with a twin over full bunk bed, and a trundle that pulls out for another twin bed. There are toys to play with, a TV/DVD combo and books to read. There is also a full bathroom next door with tub shower unit.
The second floor has two coastal-themed bedrooms. The back bedroom has a flat screen TV with DVD, queen bed and attached bath that is shared with the front bedroom. The front bedroom has a nautical theme with a full bed, and twin loft bed, cathedral ceiling and DVD only TV.
There is plenty of room for all your gear in the entryway/mud room with attached screened in porch. An outside shower allows you to wash all the sand off from a great day at the beach. There is also a swing set just steps from the porch. And a New fire pit area for roasting marshmallows in the evenings and a gas grill, propane provided.
Choosing our home for your vacation property with a total of FOUR showers, FOUR bedrooms and THREE baths means your group can spread out and enjoy your vacation!
"Oar-Chard House" is stocked with plenty of items to make your visit easier. Bath towels and washcloths are provided, along with hand towels, dish towels, dish cloths and hot pads. Just remember your own beach towels!
For nice nights in we have DVD’s, games, puzzles and even a oversized connect 4 for some serious competitions.
The kitchen will have saran wrap, aluminum foil, filters for the coffeemaker, paper towels and salt & pepper. There's also dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent and dryer sheets provided as well.
A Note About the Trams: Electric trams are available along the bluff to traverse the 90 foot bluff. The trams are maintained by the neighborhood association, and Shores cannot guarantee that trams will be fully functional every day of your stay. The association may need to close the trams to address repairs, routine maintenance or recharging the batteries that provide the power to move the platforms. Guests are asked to follow the tram operating instructions so the trams stay operational for everyone in the neighborhood. Please note that this property does not have a code for the stairs; please plan to use the tram.
Miami Park Shoreline: The shoreline at Miami Park can change from season to season. As of late August, the trams bring you down to an sandy area above the waterline, with stairs & steps into the lake at either end of the sandy area. The most recent photos are shared in the listing.

The property was quaint, cozy and very welcoming. We liked how it was in a quiet setting. The property had comfortable beds, was clean, had so many small nice touches at the property - coffee pot, coffee provided, washer/dryer at the property, suggestions on things to do in the area written on a chalkboard, lots of space, 3 bathrooms.

The staff was very easy to communicate with both by email and on the phone. They were friendly, informative and answered all our questions. My husband and I rented this home for a family vacation. It was our Christmas gift to them. We were all very comfortable in the home. There was plenty of room to spread out but gathering spaces were accommodating too. The home was well cared for and had everything we needed. It was on a nice street with an easy walk to the lake at the end of the block. We thought the tram down to the beach was fun, but we mostly took the stairs for exercise. Although the beach was not a great sandy beach, I liked taking a walk in the morning and then cooling off with a swim before returning home. The entire week was good family fun!
