We look forward to our family vacation every year at Master Lodge. Most of the grandchildren and now great grandchildren have been doing it every year of their lives. We had two engagements and a pregnancy announced, so the family is growing. We cherish the memories and look forward to making more.

Weve been doing this so long that now its pretty much just signing the contract, but whatever contact I have had has always been pleasant and efficient. I would have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Shores.

We have a special connection with the Master Lodge. At one time it was a hotel and many, many years ago my daughter and her friend worked there one summer as chamber maids. I remember my husband and I picking her up to take her to college and sitting in the porch area waiting for her to finish packing. She loved telling the nieces and nephews stories about making the beds and her experience there. She died of ovarian cancer in 2005, so Master Lodge is a special place to return to and feel her presence and cherish the memories.

My mother had asked to go back to the ocean as was our custom for our whole lives for family reunion. However she is unable to travel so we picked Southhaven lakefront instead. It was exactly perfect for her. She was able to sit on the deck and hear the water lapping the shore, and have her whole family surrounding her. She is 92 and no longer walks or does the stairs. Thanks!

The house is right on Lake Michigan, the boardwalk, and close to the Soda Shop. It is a short ride to Degrandchamps for blueberry picking and to South Haven for shopping
Master Lodge is a wonderful spot for enjoying the beach, playing games, enjoying meals , and family time

In this year of pandemic uncertainty there were questions of what to do. Do we cancel or do we come? Dawn was especially helpful guiding us through that decision and Shores was extremely amenable to the possibility of cancellation. It was greatly appreciated.

In 1991 our first two grandchildren were babies and we planned a family vacation over the fourth of July in Lake Geneva. It was a great success and we decided to make it a tradition. The next year someone suggested South Haven. We had a wonderful experience and decided this was an ideal location. In 1995 we discovered the Master Lodge was available. There was a history there. In the early 70's our oldest daughter had worked there her senior year in high school as a chambermaid when it was a small hotel. We picked her up at the Master Lodge to take her to college. She delighted in sharing stories with the grandchildren about her experiences at the lodge, changing sheets in the bedrooms and sneaking out to meet the tennis instructors at night. This year we had a 21st birthday celebration for a grandson. He has been coming to South Haven and Master Lodge every summer of his life. We've scattered ashes of two loved ones there, a grandfather and a sister. Two years ago we had a proposal there because it was so meaningful to our granddaughter and her fiance wanted to make it special. Last year she was married near South Haven and they spent their honeymoon at Master Lodge with us. (They did have a second honeymoon in the islands in the winter.) We share so many wonderful memories and we are looking forward to making more next year.

Another memory is my late daughter was a chambermaid at the Master Lodge when it was a hotel. We picked her up there to take her to college at the U of I and waited on the porch while she gathered her belongings! She loved sharing that experience with all her nieces and nephews. I know she is with us there in spirit!

As wonderful as always. We have a constant slide show of previous years spent there going on during our stay. The memories we have are priceless. As an example there are pictures of Caitie and the cousins as toddlers splashing in a blowup pool on the deck as toddlers and now we will be adding pictures of her and David on the deck celebrating their engagement. What a treasure!

Appreciated Dawns empathy and customer service with our concerns. She was attentive with our calls. The Plummer was friendly when he came and told us adults should not use the toilet. Exterminator came but didn't return to address issue.

We had a wonderful vacation however with the amount we paid we expected the house to be in better standing. We do appreciate the offer to refund a small amount of rental fee.
