This Prairie Style Ranch with an open floor plan can host up to 12 guests with ease. The ambiance of mood that this home embraces is calming and relaxing. It is a house that puts the soul at rest and the heart in a state of perpetual happiness. Located at the end of a very low traffic road, the noise levels that grind away at our senses from City life are all but gone, replaced by the cries of the seagulls and the muffled laughter of children playing down along the shore and in the surf.

This home is in a perfect location. Not only is it facing the lake but it is located between South Haven, Saugatuck and Douglas - Three small, beautiful and charming cities that are worth planning a day trip to explore. Glenn, MI is immediately north of Great Lakes Escape and there you will find The Glenn Store; a small, but quaint, convenience store that has an amazing inventory of wine and spirits. It is also one of the best delis along Blue Star Highway and people are known to rave about their pizza as well! South Haven is an active Beach City with a charming Lighthouse that is a famous backdrop for many Photographers, both professionally and at the amatuer level. Saugatuck and Douglas are two communities that embrace the Fine Arts and Culinary Temptations.

Great Lakes Escape will also tempt you and your loved ones to just stay put and dwell within and around the property. Its beauty is so consuming when you sit upon the deck and just gaze out at the horizon of the Lake. There is a meditative effect that will calm you and make the hours pass like seconds as you are engrossed deep in thought and lost within your own head. The bluff overlooking the lake is a perfect place to practice Yoga, Tai Chi or just sit and read a book. The sunsets that you will experience while staying here may leave you breathless and yearning to come back once you leave.

The large windows allow all the beauty of the blues and greens of the lake to reign supreme throughout the house. In the evening, the sunset casts such warm colors through those windows that to stand there at the window and let the dying rays of the sun wash over your body is almost an existential moment. To push the boundaries of relaxation and tranquility try sitting in the hot tub to watch the sun set and the stars filter into the evening sky. Being outside of the big developments and Cities that are on the Coast, the light pollution is at much lower levels allowing the Universe to show that there is more out there then we sometimes believe.

The kitchen has enough counter space to cook for the masses and clearly, the dining room table is able to accommodate everyone. The bedrooms are warm and comfortable with plenty of space to spread out in each room; even within the shared rooms. The beds themselves, from the King down to the trundle, will embrace your bodies at night and allow everyone to get a restful night's sleep. Soft cotton sheets and deep firm pillows will amplify the experience.

The lower level of this house is built for activity in comparison to the quiet charm of the upper level commands. The Ping Pong Table is a great place for Gen X’ers to school their children, nieces and nephews in the art of Table Tennis. Do you remember how good it felt to slice a spin on the ball having it cut the outer edge of the table making your serve almost in possible to return? Sure you do! Dust off your skills and have at it! There are also a handful of other family games to play that are found downstairs in the TV room area. If you can’t find a particular game to play that calls to you, in South Haven there are a few places to pick up some new game titles. Harbor Toy Company and Hideaway Gaming are but two to check out. Also - for the Gen X’ers (and their children and their children’s children too) there is Rocket Arcade. All your favorite arcade games from the 80’s and an amazing assortment of pinball machines can be found there. So make sure to bring your sweat bands and cinnamon toothpicks if you are to head there and get your Asteroids on!

The lower level fireplace can set the mood for any late night gaming, binging movies, or just sitting down stairs telling stories to grandchildren, or friends. There is an amazing telescope located down there as well that will allow you to gaze at the stars and planets and share an amazing experience with a loved one, or two. Sharing the universe with a child (at any age) is a pretty special experience and one that they will remember all their life. Just like all the shared experiences, stories and moments when you are on vacation with your family, their family and/or with friends. The lakeside yard at this property has no fence and a steep bluff.  Please plan on monitoring children outside.  Walkway to the shoreline is a Combination of wood steps plus a pathway with 4x4 dividers to stabilize the pathway over 100 steps down
